Nationwide Commercial Insurance Quote
Nationwide partnered with Bold Penguin to build their online commercial insurance quote. A user-centric experience was top of mind throughout the creation of the quote platform. My goal was to maintain Simplicity and Accessibility while implementing Nationwide’s visual guidelines.
Throughout this project I managed visual edits, and UX deliverables with the Nationwide design lead, product managers, our partners and engineering. Concepts and iterations were presented to reinforce the betterment of the final product.

Starting the Quote
Selecting the type of insurance a business owner needs can be tricky. To help alleviate this pain point the customer service contact phone number is present on every page. Commercial insurance plan descriptions are in plain view on desktop and tablet. The descriptions were configured in an accordion for mobile – this avoids endless scrolling and allows simple selection for the small business owner who already knows the type of insurance they need.
Angular Material
Inputs
Angular material inputs were used in juncture with Nationwide brand color ways for all input states. The progress bar was simplified to progression points on mobile.
Buttons & Dropdowns
Maintaining consistency with existing Nationwide UI was a must – selections to answers were simplified to mirror client requests.
Single Quote
Nationwide specific quote showing itemized coverage limits – Desktop & Mobile view.
Multiple Quotes
“Best match” highlights the best coverage for the business owner. Cards were used to display multiple single policies – allowing for a lot of information to be shown, but not overwhelmingly so. Mobile: The cards are stacked with the option to show less information. The “Show less” button minimizes the card to only show the price – the carrier, and the remaining card move upward.
Commercial Auto
Created the mobile experience for Commercial Auto. Vehicle information or a VIN can be entered and questions populate from there.
Tabs allow the user to choose their preferred vehicle input option, and edit or delete vehicles accordingly.
